The Genetic Awareness Learning Module was developed by Meghan Strenk, a LEND genetic counseling trainee at the VA LEND, and LEND faculty from the Partnership for People with Disabilities at Virginia Commonwealth University.
The goal of this free, online, interactive module is to increase the genetic awareness of all LEND professionals. LEND programs are encouraged to consider incorporating the module to further incorporate genetic counseling into LEND training. Composed of three interactive stories about families with genetic diagnoses, the modules illustrate various aspects of genetic awareness. Links to Internet-based resources are also included.
