Ann Barbour

There's a large amount of adults with disabilities that are still living with their parents, and they don't really see the options that are available. Ann Barbour hopes to see the bar rise, of the view that our society has, of people with disabilities, and making more options. We live in a society that is focused on the branches of the minority community, yet oftentimes the branch of people with disabilities is not included. People that are living with disabilities are people that have lives, too.

Ann is a strong advocate for all people with disabilities and their families, has gained knowledge through personal experiences and interests. Ann first volunteered for AUCD selling merchandise from the AUCD Marketplace at the 2018 Annual Conference. She volunteers at her local food pantry, local nonprofit that helps low-income individuals and familes, and at AUCD's national headquarters. Her interests include making art, cooking and using those hobbies to expand information about resources to help expand opportunities and understanding.
