Program Specialist: NCBDDD Cooperative Agreement

This individual will coordinate, plan and carryout
work at AUCD under Cooperative Agreement with the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, CDC by assisting with coordination of a range of project activities including meetings, webinars, materials development, technical assistance, and information exchange and dissemination. Provide support on a wide range of activities that furthers the mission and goals of members of the AUCD network.
The Project Specialist will work under the supervision of the AUCD-NCBDDD Project Director.
Required Competencies
  • Experience in planning and providing technical assistance and consultation in the public health and disability areas.
  • Demonstrated superior ability to communicate effectively through writing and speaking.
  • Working knowledge of disability and/or public health issues.
  • Demonstrate professionalism with the constituents of NCBDDD and the AUCD.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Internet to communicate and exchange information.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using word processing, database and spreadsheet software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on and/or coordinate a number of simultaneous activities that have multiple components.
Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of a graduate program (MPH, MS, MSW, MA, etc.) in the social or health sciences (e.g., public health, public policy, psychology, social work, education, allied health)
  • Or Bachelor Degree with 1-3 years of experience in human services.
Desired Qualifications
  • Past experience working with grants or subcontracts at federal or state levels
  • Research, teaching, training, direct service, technical assistance or administrative support experience in a UCEDD, LEND or similar organization
  • Completion of a LEND or UCEDD traineeship
