What you will be doing:

The Equity and Inclusion Coordinator is part of a growing team that develops and leads programs designed to fulfill the agency’s vision of an Oregon where meaningful work enables the state’s diverse people and businesses to realize their full potential, creating prosperity in every community. This position assists in implementing and adapting the agency's long- range equity and inclusion plans, goals, objectives, and milestones across multiple divisions and evaluating program effectiveness. In this role you will:

  • Increase the diversity of the divisions’ workforces and reducing barriers to employment faced by protected classes and those under-represented.
  • Engage the organization in dialogue and training that promotes understanding, respect, and inclusion on the work environment.
  • Collect data, conduct analyses, and provide reports on the agency’s progress related to equity, inclusion, affirmative action, and retention of a diverse workforce.
  • Assist multiple divisions in interpreting and adapting agency equity lens analyses of customer-facing programs to ensure that all Oregonians can successfully access the agency's services regardless of their identity. 
  • Staff and contribute to internal and external task forces and work groups, including the Employment Department’s Equity and Inclusion Council.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work; OR;
  • Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
