PROGRAM COORDINATOR, KENNEDY KRIEGER INSTITUTE, BALTIMORE, MD

 

Overview

The Project Coordinator (Self-Advocacy) is responsible for coordinating the work of People On the Go (POG), a statewide self-advocacy group across a number of projects to further the goals of self-advocates with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The position works towards attainment of POG’s goals, objectives, and legislative agenda, as determined by the voluntary POG Leadership Board. In addition, this position will collaborate with the MCDD Director, Associate Director, and other MCDD staff to ensure representation of self-advocacy priorities across all MCDD programs and projects. This also entails pursuing new funding opportunities and sustaining existing funding to meet self-advocacy goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide grant writing, management, and evaluation of data across a number of funded projects.
  2. Prepare grant reports according to grant funded project requirements (e.g., quarterly or annual reports).
  3. Ensure timely delivery and completion of project-related data systems and reports including all MCDD and POG required systems.
  4. Coordinate with MCDD Director and grants manager to monitor project budgets, track expenses, and process requisitions (including sub-contractor invoices) in a timely and accurate manner, including billing, other invoices, transportation expenses, etc.
  5. Provide updates to POG leadership, MCDD staff, and the MCDD’s Community Advisory Council, as needed.
  6. Coordinate with MCDD staff to develop, create, maintain, and disseminate POG-related promotion materials including newsletter articles, brochures, web-content, flyers, etc.
  7. Coordinate all POG funded activities including trainings, events, legislative efforts, and the POG conference.
  8. Attend and participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings.
  9. Assists the Program Director with the development and preparation of training and presentation materials.
  10. Ensures equity, diversity, and inclusion are embedded in all project tasks.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma is required; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 years’ experience with working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Must have experience in budget and project management.
  • Must have experience in facilitation of meetings.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and has experience in managing grants and contracts.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft professional software.
