Description: 

The Center for Leadership in Disability in the Mark Chaffin Center for Healthy Development, School of Public Health is seeking a Sponsor Funded Bilingual (English/Spanish) Community Mental Health Engagement Consultant. This is a full-time, salaried position with a preference for a licensed mental health clinician. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide training, technical assistance, and consultation to early intervention, childcare, school, and adult program personnel on the development and implementation of individualized mental health interventions and supports, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), and related evidence-based practices
  • Provide direct counseling and consultation to families 
  • Some potential statewide travel with overnight stays to fulfill project activities
  • Provide Spanish translation and interpretation services for CLD training and curricula
  • Collaborate with universities, schools, advocacy organizations, service programs, and state agencies to maximize implementation of MHFA
  • Establish and oversee data collection, analysis, evaluation, and reporting processes for their respective caseload
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate curricula for disability communities in Georgia and across the United States
  • Identify funding sources and write grant proposals for new activities and training programs in support of advocacy within Spanish-speaking communities in Georgia funding for projects
  • Participate in the activities of the Georgia Developmental Disabilities Network and a broader array of state agencies, school districts, and programs by representing CLD at advisory and other related meetings
  • Work to fulfill the broad objectives of CLD as a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) through participation in the activities of the UCEDD network and the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Master's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Salary:  $51,000 - $75,000

Preferred Hiring Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years experience working in mental health and/or K-12 settings
  • LPC, LCSW, or licensed psychologist preferred
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Strong oral presentation skills
  • Strong community engagement skills
