Summary: The Meeting Facilitator of the Consumer Advisory Council (CAC) meetings is responsible for facilitating four to five meetings a year. For each meeting, the Meeting Facilitator will work with the CAC Chair, CAC Logistics Administrator and IOD Staff Liaison to (a) plan the upcoming meeting, (b) create the agenda, © ensure accommodation needs are provided and that each meeting meets IOD accessibility standards, (d) facilitate during the actual meeting, (e) debrief after the meeting, and (f) review meeting minutes. When facilitating during a meeting, the Meeting Facilitator will (1) move the CAC through the agenda, (2) seek consensus to change the agenda, as needed, (3) strive to ensure that all CAC members participate, and (4) work with the CAC Chair to manage voting procedures for decision making, (5) summarize each discussion succinctly, (6) maintain constructive and respectful decorum, (7) maintain neutrality, and (8) ensure discussions stay focused on the topic at hand.

 

Job Duties Include:

  • Facilitate the quarterly meetings. (Three hours each. A half hour before, two hours during, and a half hour after.)
  • Debrief prior quarterly meeting and plan the agenda of the next quarterly meeting with the CAC Chair and IOD Staff Liaison. (Two hours each quarterly meeting.)
  • Work with CAC Chair, Concord Office Administrator and IOD Staff Liaison to ensure accommodation needs are provided and that each meeting meets IOD accessibility standards. (One hour per quarterly meeting)
  • Plan, facilitate, debrief, and troubleshoot accommodation and participation issues for at least one special meeting(s).

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience facilitating meetings involving sometimes complex discussion
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and ADA
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly listening and conflict resolution
