The Department of Special Education seeks a full-time, nine month Teaching Assistant Professor. This is a non-tenure track position, renewable contingent upon performance reviews. The Department, ranked 9th among special education departments in the nation by U.S. News and World Report (2020), is committed to the production and dissemination of new knowledge in the field. Faculty and graduate students in the Department work in diverse educational and community settings, and prepare educational professionals at the undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and post-doctoral levels. Position responsibilities: In the Department of Special Education, Teaching Assistant Professors carry a teaching load of 3 courses per semester (6 per year). The appointment is  conceptualized as: 60% teaching, 30% research, and 10% service.

Qualifications: Preferred candidates must hold a PhD degree in Special Education or a related field and have a successful record of college teaching. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach, in both online and face-to-face formats, a wide range of undergraduate and graduate special education courses (PreK-High School).

Salary and Starting Date: Salary will be commensurate with experience. The proposed starting date is August 16, 2021.
