Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) announces the availability of several Staff Psychologist positions within the Developmental and Behavioral Psychology program in the Division of Behavior Medicine and Clinical Psychology.  Each position involves collaborative, interdisciplinary care within the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.  CCHMC is one of the largest children's hospitals in the country with a reputation for excellence and innovation in clinical care, teaching, and research. CCHMC was recently ranked third of pediatric hospitals by the US News & World Report and ranks third among pediatric medical centers in National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding.

Position openings:

 

DD/ASD Diagnostic Assessment/Treatment Position

Primary responsibility will be to provide diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents who present with a variety of neurodevelopmental disabilities (including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, behavior disorders, inattention, developmental delay, etc) within a multidisciplinary outpatient hospital-based setting.  For interested applicants, opportunities are also available to provide evidence-based behavioral and cognitive behavioral interventions to children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and parent training to caregivers of children with developmental disabilities; in addition to their primary diagnostic workflow.  In keeping with the multi-disciplinary nature of the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics in CCHMC, this position involves frequent collaboration and inter-disciplinary teaming with medical providers (developmental pediatricians, advanced practice nurses, psychiatrists), speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, social work, etc. As such, the candidate will be expected to effectively communicate and coordinate patient care. 

 

DD/ASD Outpatient Treatment Position

Primary responsibility will be to provide evidence-based behavioral and cognitive behavioral interventions to children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder and parent training to caregivers of children with developmental disabilities/autism spectrum disorder. Provide short-term behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to children with a variety of presenting concerns including tantrum, mild aggression, mild self-injury, anxiety, and noncompliance until they can be transitioned to community services or parents have adequate strategies to implement at home. This position will be part of a multidisciplinary collaboration including possible co-treatment appointments with occupational therapists and/or speech and language pathologists and collaboration with medical providers. As such, the candidate will be expected to effectively communicate and coordinate patient care with each team member and collaborate on treatment goals and interventions.

 

Feeding and Behavior Intervention Position

Primary responsibility will be to provide evidence-based behavioral interventions and parent training to caregivers of children with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Provide short-term behavioral feeding therapy and behavioral treatment of challenging behaviors to children with developmental disabilities until they can be transitioned to a community services or parents have adequate strategies to implement at home. This position will be part of a multidisciplinary collaboration including co-treatment appointments with occupational therapists and collaboration with medical providers, nutrition, and speech and language therapists. As such, the candidate will be expected to effectively communicate and coordinate patient care with each team member and collaborate on treatment goals and interventions.
