Intake Specialist (Community Adult Services)

Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD. is seeking an Intake Specialist (Community Adult Services).  The Intake Specialist will be responsible for the development of administrative systems and documentation of individual client programs, coordinating the admission process, and completing and submitting required client documents to DDA. The Clinical Services Coordinator will deal effectively and professionally with government agencies, the general public, individuals with disabilities and their families.

This position requires travel in Montgomery County, Baltimore City, and surrounding areas.

EDUCATION:

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in special education or vocational rehabilitation required.
  • Experience with behavioral interventions preferred.
  • Must become a certified Mandt Trainer by the conclusion of the initial evaluation period. Training opportunities and funding will be provided by the department.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of diagnostic/assessment tools related to learning and behavioral program design and evaluation for students with severe maladaptive behaviors.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations and procedures that govern behavioral program delivery in special education.
  • Must have proficiency in collaborating with a variety of professional teams, including mental health, medical, related services, educational planning, and career planning teams.
  • Must have expertise in behavior management, adaptation to individual needs of complex students, and the competence and leadership to facilitate professional development to practitioners, clinicians and agency representatives, as appropriate.
