Assistant/Associate Director - University of Connecticut UCEDD, A.J. Pappanikou Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities

The University of Connecticut's A.J. Pappanikou University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service (UConn UCEDD) seeks an experienced faculty to work with our Center Director, leadership team, and Community Advisory Council to plan, implement, and evaluate all center activities. This position is a senior rank of associate or full professor, depending on academic qualifications.

We are seeking an Assistant/Associate Director to:

  • Assist the Center Director to develop and implement UCEDD goals and objectives
  • Assist in grant development and writing
  • Enhance and coordinate the Center's efforts in the areas of interdisciplinary training, research, service delivery dissemination and policy, in the emphasis area of schools, including post-secondary transitions. 

Required Qualifications:  1) A doctoral degree in special education, education, psychology, public health or a related field; 2) Evidence of an established program of scholarship; 3) Evidence of securing and/or coordinating external funding; 4) Evidence of effective college teaching and advising, and the use of evidence-based adult learning practices; 5) Evidence of successful experience working with persons with disabilities in applied settings; 6) Evidence of successful experience working with interdisciplinary groups of students and faculty; 7) Evidence of a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for students and adults with developmental disabilities; 8) Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; 9) Demonstrated ability to work across multiple state and national agencies and programs; 10) A proven record of success in program development and administration.
