Welcome to the University of New Hampshire (UNH) and to the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Engagement and Faculty Development-home to the Postdoctoral Diversity and Innovation Scholars program. 

The program is a high-profile initiative designed to increase the diversity of UNH's faculty, which is inextricably linked to academic excellence and student success. This program opens a pathway to the professoriate for highly talented, underrepresented postdoctoral scholars. The UNH program is informed by best practices of established programs to increase faculty excellence and diversity including those at UNC-Chapel Hill, Howard University, University of Maryland - Baltimore County and Virginia Commonwealth University.

The University of New Hampshire is pleased to invite your application for the Postdoctoral Diversity and Innovation Scholars program . Please share with current postdoctoral scholars (seeking a 2nd postdoc) or recent PhD graduates in your network. A description of the program and the (5 postdoc cohort of diverse scholars each year) appears on our website at www.unh.edu/diverse-postdoc. A minimum salary of $50,000 (depending on discipline) and a professional development program and professional development fund are also provided. On our website you will find a PDF electronic card that describes the range of professional development opportunities which in particular includes a research mentoring network, participation in in-depth faculty development programs and the opportunity during the second postdoctoral year to apply for a tenure track faculty openings. We have postdoctoral opening in seven department across three colleges including the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture, the College of Health and Human Services and the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics.

With a train station on our main campus, we are situated 1 hour from Boston & 1.5 hours (by plane) to Washington DC in the beautiful seacoast region of New Hampshire. As part of these Academies, scholars will be provided resources to visit federal agencies with their cohort and participate in monthly cohort-based experiences with experts and leaders across the campus and nationally. In addition, scholars will gain access to workshops on teaching and learning offered by the Center for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching and Learning.

This suite of experiences will prepare scholars to apply for subsequent tenure-track faculty positions.
