Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a new staff training related to defining, understanding and interacting with people with intellectual disabilities
  • Support the sustainability and growth of staff mentorship program at Special Olympics headquarters
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, develop manager training for staff who supervise individuals with intellectual disabilities within the organization
  • Create resources and tools to serve as best practices for regional and local Special Olympics Programs for creating positive, meaningful workplace inclusion
  • Develop resources that support the connection between Unified Champion Schools (UCS) skill development and workforce readiness for youth with and without ID leaving school
  • Gather resources from other organizations on inclusive workplaces and workforce readiness
  • Organize and facilitate an advisory committee to provide feedback on the direction of resources and training
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Special Education, Occupational Therapy, School Counseling, or other related field
  • Experience working with people with Intellectual Disabilities
  • Proven computer skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a group
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience generating and managing content
  • Strong attention to detail and experience managing large amounts of information in Excel

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with leading conference calls and meetings
  • Current graduate student in a related field
