Position Title:      Senior Research Associate
Department:
         Center on Disability and Development, Texas A&M University, College Station TX
Salary:                  $60,000-66,000 annually commensurate with experiences

Job Duties:

  • Take the primary responsibilities of conducting research to identify employability
    skills that are essential for students with disabilities to gain and maintain employment.

  • Under the direction of the Project Director, take a lead in designing a high school elective course focused on developing the employability skills of students with disabilities.

  • Engage in an iterative process to develop a curriculum for the high school elective course.

  • Under the direction of the Project Director, lead research activities to test the curriculum and gather feedback from stakeholders for subsequent revisions.

  • Participate in a team to collect and analyze research data from field-test of the curriculum and make necessary revisions.

  • Participate in a team to develop graphical and electronic features of the curriculum.

  • Participate in writing research reports.

  • Assist with writing grant proposals.

  • Perform other duties assigned by the Center Director.


Required Education and Experience

Doctoral degree in special education, vocational rehabilitation, educational psychology, or related field; three or more years of high school teaching or vocational rehabilitation counseling experiences; ability to multi-task; and excellent communication and inter-person skills for working cooperatively with others. A Master's degree with outstanding experiences in transition, research, and curriculum development will be considered.
