Overview:  We are seeking a full-time Research Coordinator to manage and implement translational and community-oriented research. Our RFK CERC serves more than 5,000 persons with developmental disabilities and their families, the majority of whom are from under-served communities in the Bronx. CERC serves as the setting for our University Centers of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (LEND). Our UCEDD conducts community-oriented training, technical assistance and capacity-building. Our LEND program provides multi-disciplinary pre-service training.

Responsibilities:

The Research Coordinator will work across our UCEDD and LEND Implement research studies across RFK CERC including the design of research studies, recruitment of personnel and subjects, data collection, data analysis, and summary of findings;

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff in our UCEDD and LEND programs in the development and design of research studies that focus on improving the lives of persons with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Identify, write and submit grant applications to federal (e.g., NIH), state (e.g., New York State Department of Health), and non-profit agencies for funding.
  • Manage the day-to-day aspects of research including recruitment of personnel and subjects
  • Involve people with developmental disabilities and families, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, in the development of research products and resources

Qualifications:

  • BA required, MA preferred
  • Experience in public health, community-oriented and/or disabilities research
  • Superior attention to detail and organization
  • Strong writing skills
  • Familiarity with data analysis (Excel, SPSS)
  • Record of successful application for funding, preferred
