As part of its statewide, land-grant mission, the University of Idaho's Counseling and School Psychology program invites applicants for a full-time, tenure track assistant professor with specializations in school psychology. The successful candidate will be engaged in instruction, outreach, scholarly activity, and field-based supervision in a NASP approved school psychology program.

The Counseling and School Psychology program offers advanced degree programs at the Master and Educational Specialist levels at Coeur d'Alene and Moscow, Idaho. The program's unique dual degree approach prepares candidates for both the school counselor and school psychologist certification. The above program position will be located at the UI main campus in Moscow. Faculty may be expected to travel to other locations in Idaho and use distance technologies to deliver the program state-wide as part of UI's land-grant mission.

Programs in Counseling and School Psychology are accredited by three professional organizations: Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), and Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE). The school personnel programs are accredited by NCATE and approved by the Idaho Department of Education.

The Position:
The Counseling and School Psychology Program seeks candidates who, in their teaching, research and service, model school psychology as an intellectual, collaborative and ethical practice. Successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high quality instruction, scholarship, and outreach. Candidate must be able to contribute to the program's certification and degree programs at the Master and Educational Specialist levels in both school counseling and school psychology. Because the program offers a dual-degree curriculum in both school counseling and school psychology, the idea candidate will possess certifications and experiences in both areas. Other responsibilities include participating as a member of the Counseling and School Psychology team and the department (CASPEL-Counseling and School Psychology, Special Education, Educational Leadership). The faculty are expected to advise Master and Educational Specialist students; engage in outreach, and supervise field experiences. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with professionals in school districts and will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity. Program faculty are dedicated to serving students, providing service to rural communities and professionals and at-risk and minority students, and to personal renewal and development.

Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have 1) an earned doctorate degree in school psychology from a NASP approved program, 2) experience as a K-12 school psychologist with evidence of capacity to work collaboratively with K-12 professionals, 3) hold or be eligible for certification as a school psychologist, 4) a thorough understanding of school counseling certification as a closely related program in a dual-degree program, 5) evidence of the ability to teach either qualitative or quantitative research, and 6) demonstrated potential for or a record of scholarly research and publication.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) experience teaching at the university level in school psychology, 2) ability to manage and supervise internships and practica, 3) ability to establish partnerships with schools, educational agencies, and other stakeholders, 4) knowledge of NASP accreditation, 5) experiences with distance delivery, 6) experience as school psychologist in a setting with diverse student populations, and 7) preparation in and certification in school counseling and school psychology, with graduate degrees in both areas.

Salary Range:
