Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Centers (OAICs) and Coordinating Center

The total amount to be awarded is approximately $4.6 million in FY2008.  Anticipated number of awards: 4 new and/or competitive renewal OAIC Center awards and 1 OAIC Coordinating Center  

This RFA supports new and competing renewal applications for Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Centers (OAICs) (centers of excellence in geriatrics research and training) and an OAIC Coordinating Center. The Claude D. Pepper Older American Independence Centers (OAIC) program was established in honor of the late Representative to establish "centers of excellence" in geriatrics research and training. The goal of the OAIC program is to increase scientific knowledge that will lead to better ways to maintain or restore independence in older persons.
