Guam UCEDD Awarded Federal Assistance to Benefit their Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Guam Child Link System

Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo has announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded the University of Guam Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (Guam CEDDERS) $139,735 in federal financial assistance. The grant received today will benefit Guam CEDDERS through their Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Guam Child Link system.
The Guam Child Link system is a digital information database of infants born at the Guam Memorial Hospital and the Sagua Mañågu Birthing Center. The system monitors all infants, especially those diagnosed with hearing problems, and provides them with necessary services during critical developmental stages.
"The grant received today will help improve Guam CEDDERS' Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Child Link System," said Congresswoman Bordallo. "This program works to identify infants and children with hearing loss, and it promotes timely follow-up testing and services. I look forward to these federal funds helping children on Guam with hearing deficiencies."
