Self Help for Hard of Hearing People (SHHH)

Location

Specific sites to be determined. Activities will take place in all five regional clusters.

Program Summary

SHHH will implement an outreach program targeted at people with hearing loss. They will use their chapters to disseminate information about national service programs and encourage people to engage in national service. Ten regional national service directors' training seminars will give program staff proven techniques on how to work with people with hearing loss including the needs and requirements of communication accessibility and appropriate assistive technology. SHHH will develop fact sheets, educational pamphlets, and PSAs and will create a dedicated website. Chapters in concert with national service programs will recruit volunteers to participate in the National Day of Hearing Screening, a national hearing health awareness program.
