Kennedy Krieger Institute's Dr. Michael V. Johnston Receives Bernard Sachs Award from the Child Neurology Society

Dr. Michael V. Johnston, executive vice president and chief medical officer of the Kennedy Krieger Institute, was recently honored with the Bernard Sachs Award for his critical research. This award, presented by the Child Neurology Society, is granted to someone of international status who has done leading research in neuroscience with relevance to the care of children with neurological disorders.
"Wherever he has looked at a disease, Dr. Johnston has enlightened us as to what is going on and, if possible, where and when we might be able to treat it," writes Robert S. Rust, MD, in the Child Neurology Society Newsletter. "Dr. Johnston is apparently an inexhaustible source for new ideas."
In addition, on March 13, 2009, Dr. Johnston was honored as the recipient of the Blum-Moser Chair for Pediatric Neurology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. This endowed chair position was made possible through the generosity of the Marc and Leonor Blum and Family.
