Melissa Bellin awarded 2007 Young Professional Award

Melissa Bellin, PhD, of the Partnership for People with Disabilities, Virginia Commonwealth University recieved the 2008 Young Professional Award at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) Annual Meeting and Conference.

Melissa Bellin, PhD, of the Partnership for People with Disabilities, Virginia Commonwealth University recieved the 2008 Young Professional Award at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) Annual Meeting and Conference.

The award is presented to professionals in the disabilities field under the age of 40 years who have demonstrated dedication and commitment to people with developmental disabilities and their families through their work as a bridge between the academic sector and the community.

Wrote her nominator, "She is a rising star in the field of disabilities and family-centered care as reflected by her research, scholarship, teaching, and service.  Mel "walks the talk." She embraces people, ideas, and challenges, and she is passionate about her work.  It is easy to imaging voting for Mel in the future for AUCD President or other honors."
