Established in 1994, The National Arts and Disability Center focuses on fostering connections between the diverse voices and vision of artists with disabilities and the cultural arts community. The mission of the NADC is to promote the inclusion of audiences and artists with disabilities into all facets of the arts community. The National Arts and Disability Center is Directed by Dr. Olivia Raynor.

The NADC is a leading consultant in the arts and disability community, and the only center of its kind. The NADC offers:

  • A searchable directory of national cultural arts organizations
  • National online art gallery
  • California Directory of Artists with Disabilities
  • Social Media
  • California Arts and Accessibility Grants Program
  • Co-sponsorships of arts events
  • Training

One of the most notable components of the NADC is the California Arts and Accessibility Grants Program  In collaboration with the California Arts Council (CAC), the NADC supports the professional development of artists with disabilities and builds the capacity of cultural arts organizations to reach diverse audiences with disabilities. We have awarded grants to over 212 artists and 174 cultural arts organizations.

We have an extensive network of collaborators; these are just a few - the National Endowment for the Arts, California Arts Council, UCLA Dancing Disability Lab, Wynn Newhouse Awards, AXIS Dance, and 28 State Arts Agencies and their partners.
