Presenters:

Jennifer AmesDr. Jennifer Ames is a staff scientist at the Division of Research at Kaiser Permanente Northern California (KPNC). She is a member of the AIR-P Gender, Sexuality, and Reproductive Health Research Node, led by Drs. Lisa Croen and Maria Massolo at Kaiser Permanente Northern California. Dr. Ames' research focuses on the epidemiology of autism and co-occurring physical and mental health conditions and the delivery of healthcare services to autistic people. She has been involved in studies of provider approaches to transitioning autistic youth from pediatric to adult health care and patterns of health care utilization during the transition to adulthood. Her current work seeks to understand what factors contribute to OB/GYN healthcare gaps for autistic people and generate knowledge that can inform the development of both provider and patient-oriented interventions to mitigate these barriers.
