Although a large volume of training materials on Down syndrome currently exists, the application of these materials by medical providers when counseling new parents of a baby with Down syndrome has been reported as less than satisfactory. Through identifying the specific needs of the parents and physicians, the Educating Providers Via an Integrated Marketing Module RTOI project developed a parent brochure, "Your Baby and Down Syndrome: Answers to Questions You Might Have", for physicians to offer families in learning about Down syndrome, resources, and support groups.
