Purpose: to acquaint one UCEDD with ODEPs WRP database of talented post-secondary students with disabilities seeking employment. Many UCEDDs have universities that participate in the WRP program by having their campus students with disabilities interview and enter their resumes into the database however most UCEDDs do not use the database as a recruitment tool. The ODEP AUCD pilot aims to introduce one UCEDD to the WRP database. This introduction will include an outline of benefits, matched resumes to open positions and a JAN awareness training (the Job Accommodation Networka free service of ODEP to assist employers with new hire accommodationsnote: not all new hires with disabilities need accommodations). This pilot will operate for 6 months to a year (to be determined) after which pilot parameters including outcomes will be assessed to determine: (1) if this model was useful and if so, (2) how this model can be improved for greater effectiveness and if so (3) should this model be replicated to other UCEDDs. |
