AGENCY/DEPARTMENT:

National Institutes of Health (NIH)

SUMMARY:

This program will encourage investigators to obtain the training they need to appropriately use stem cells in their research. The use of stem cells in biomedical research offers the potential for significant advances in the next decades, provided investigators not only understand this potential, but are equipped to take advantage of it. This award will enable investigators to change the direction of their research careers or to take time from their regular professional responsibilities to broaden their scientific background by acquiring new research capabilities, specifically in the use of human or animal embryonic, adult or cord blood stem cells.
