Integrating Auditory Perception, Processing, and Comprehension: Models and Evidence

Date: 9/28/2006 - 9/29/2006
Location: Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Research on Human Development, Nashville, TN

This conference will focus on new findings in a number of key aspects of auditory perception and processing and the implications on auditory comprehension for these discoveries. Researchers whose interests range from the genetics of ion channels in auditory cortex to neural anatomy of auditory cortex, to ERP measures of auditory processing, to behavioral measures of auditory comprehension will be assembled in order to foster interdisciplinary integration of these findings and to stimulate innovative new perspectives on the implications of these discoveries. Speakers include: Patricia Deevy, Ph.D., (Purdue); Len Kaczmarek, Ph.D., (Yale); Christoph Shreiner, Ph.D., (University of San Francisco); Dan Polley, Ph.D., (Vanderbilt); Richard Woodcock, Ph.D., (Vanderbilt); Mark Wallace, Ph.D., (Vanderbilt); Beverly Wright, Ph.D., (Northwestern); Ron Gillam, Ph.D., (Utah State University); and Sasha Key, Ph.D., (Vanderbilt).
