Core Personnel
Core Director: Nancy Cox
The purpose of this Core is to provide IDDRC members with access to state-of-the-art genomic technologies and the informatic and analytic support needed to make optimal use of such facilities. The basic outline of the Core is as follows: Subcore B1 (Genomics) offering state-of-the-art services in genomics, Subcore B2 (Statistical and Genetic Analysis) offering expert support in statistical analysis, including statistical analysis of genomic data, and Subcore B3 (Bioinformatics) offering bioinformatics support for genomic studies.
Between their services the Core provides DNA sequencing, genotyping and microarray hybridization services. Services specifically of value to IDD investigators include: coordinated sequence, genotype and linkage analyses; microarray informatics; image digitization; and data storage. Cost reductions appropriate to each service is provided to IDDRC investigators. In this core we are merging the microarray, sequencing and genotyping facilities, which are integral to cutting edge research, with bioinformatics services to produce a single, integrated, highly sophisticated core that not only supports the researchers, but provides novel capabilities to drive the research that they conduct.
