Vita/Bio
Sheida K. Raley is an Assistant Research Professor at the Kansas University Center on Developmental Disabilities (KUCDD). She is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas in the Department of Special Education. Her research focuses on assessment and promotion of self-determination for all students, including students with extensive support needs learning in inclusive contexts. The ultimate goal of her research is to understand how to enable students with and without disabilities to build skills and abilities associated with self-determination, including identifying instructional strategies and supports for general and special educators to use in inclusive classrooms. Sheida is a former public school teacher for elementary and middle school students with extensive support needs in self-contained and inclusive classrooms.
