October 2022-Current North Dakota Center for People with Disabilities -Minot, ND

  • Project Assistant
    • Task assignment, scheduling of work, and submission of time cards for NDCPD’s students and part-time ability expert hires. Organizing and restructuring the electronic product library into a better system that is relevant and marketable. For the Consumer Advisory Council and the Research Consumer Advisory Council, tracked members’ information and term timelines and new membership recruitment. For both councils, meeting assistance and researched topics possibilities exploration for NDCPD’s mission and core goals. Helped recreate and promote the AskNDCPD contact system for disability community resources referral questions and other general disabilities questions from North Dakotan citizens.

 

December 2011-October 2022 Prairie Rose Home Service/Minot Commission on Aging, Inc. - Minot, ND

  • Qualified Service Provider/Homemaker/Substitute/Care Provider
    • Provided to clients that are elderly and disabled: laundry, shopping, light & deep cleaning, meal preparation, companionship. Assisted in personal care, walking, transferred, and lifted; medicine reminders, made transportation arrangements, handled correspondence/communication, money management, maintained logbook, documents, and paperwork. Also provided overnight care, cognitive supervision respite day/overnight care, emergency and conflict resolution assistance, worked independently and with coworkers, researched, promoted the company to potential clients, scheduled appointments to provide client’s services, and time management. Reported client changes and gave suggestions for improved services to PRHS coordinator, Ward County Social Services, client’s family, and medical team. Trained in Parkinson’s disease, Dementia, and CPR.

ACTIVITIES

 

  • Community Service Projects:
    • October 2021: Project Bee Diaper wrapping kit assembling.
    •  May 2018-July 2019: Ward County Jail Female Inmate Bible study co-teacher volunteer, through a local church. Assisted team lead with scheduling, program development, and meal coordination.
    • September 2018-January 2019 Ward County Jail Female Inmate local Sunday church service volunteer. I offered support by praying and worshiping with the inmates.
    • January 2008-Present: 2015 Singles’ Trip co-coordinator, advocate for many like domestic violence victims, people with disabilities, teenagers, and elderly, home bound, nursing home, and hospital visits, helped the Sunday school bus ministry, and assisted with event planning, taught home Bible studies, and through prayer at a local church.
    • January 2018-Present: Co-leader and secretary/treasurer for local church’s event planning group.
    • September-October 2017: Authored and conducted a local church’s van ministry expansion research study and proposal project expanding for people with limitations with income and mobility to be able to come to church. Completed in 2020, the church purchased a wheel chair lift bus. 
    • 2015-2016: Researched and collaborated with ND Suicide Prevention Program Director for new Minot educational group.
    • December 2014-Present: Became trained as a cat socializer at Minot’s Souris Valley Animal Shelter.
    • September 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, & 2017: Setup, served, handed out vendor door prize tickets and presentation information, cleaned, and assisted participants at the Minot Parkinson’s Support Group’s Symposium. 

 

  • Student Organization Memberships:
    • Present-2004 National Scholarly Colligate Society Lifetime member.
      • Nominated to participate in the 2006 International Scholar Laureate Program Delegation on Anthropology and Archaeology in China.
