Project Description:
The Children's Resource Center-South (CRC-S) addresses the increased need for direct support, consultation, and training experienced by families of children with special health care needs and professionals who serve them in 14 counties in Southern Wisconsin: Adams, Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Iowa, Juneau, Lafayette, Richland, Rock, Sauk, and Vernon. In order to address these needs, the CRC-S: 1) provides consultation and support through easily accessible information to families and providers; 2) implements training opportunities for families and community professionals, using the expertise of youth, family and community professionals as advisors; and 3) develop and disseminate consistent strategies and tools with common messaging that include actionable steps for specific audiences. The provision of direct consultation and support, training, and knowledge dissemination helps families of children with special health care needs receive the information, referrals, and support needed to help their children thrive.
