Project Description:
The Southeast ADA Center is one of 10 Regional Centers that provide training/technical assistance related to the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Southeast ADA Center serves the 8 states of HHS Region IV, and CLD serves as the Affiliate for the state of Georgia (each state served has one affiliate organization). The Southeast ADA Center works with a number of affiliates to accomplish its mission and select affiliates have in depth experience with disability issues and each has specific areas of expertise ranging from making information technology accessible in educational settings to the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other disability legislation. Through a subaward from Syracuse University, the primary NIDILRR grantee that operates the Southeast ADA Center, CLD is developing a training for nursing students and conducting research on food allergies among children with IDD.
