Expanding the Public Health Workforce within Disability Networks
Project Description:
The CIDD received a funding opportunity from the Administration for Community Living (ACL) to expand the public health workforce within disability networks such as the NC UCEDD. A primary focus of this funding is to increase the number of public health professionals to address the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. Specific emphasis is on reaching underserved and hard to reach populations in NC. With this funding, we will 1) hire new or expand the roles of existing public health professionals; and 2) update the CIDD website broadly and include health education information that is culturally affirmative and linguistically accessible to support the public health and wellbeing of people with disabilities.
