Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities - Leadership Training Evaluation Grant
Project Description:
The purpose of the project is to design, revise, and conduct ongoing evaluations of the initial and long-term outcomes of multiple leadership programs for the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities. Programs receiving ongoing assessment include [1] Partners in Policymaking (PIP) annual cohort, [2] Partners in Policymaking (PIP) longitudinal cohort, [3] Youth Leadership Academy (YLA), [4] People Planning Together (PPT), [5] Leadership Academy for Excellence in Disability Services (LAEDS), and [6] Scholarship Fund.
Leadership development, which includes improved self-advocacy skills, is commonly assessed in program graduates. The ongoing evaluation of each program leads to annual refinement of the topics, presenters, and teaching methodologies. Such changes will increase the leadership knowledge, skills, and behaviors of the people who participate in the programs. Measuring program outcomes is a required component of publicly funded services, and the documented impact of program benefits may be used to apply for ongoing funded support.
