Ohio Department of Education and Workforce - FRNO-Charting the LifeCourse
Project Description:
The Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) seeks to increase the capacity and community of Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) within Ohio School Districts. The DEW is offering a Ohio Charting the LifeCourse Ambassador Training Series led by the LifeCourse Nexus at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The purpose of the ODE training series is to expand Charting the LifeCourse work throughout the state by providing a foundational understanding of the key principles of the Charting the LifeCourse framework, as well as introduce the application of the principles for a specific focus area and/or practice. The Ohio Department of Education Charting the LifeCourse Ambassador Series is currently training individuals including educators and Parent Mentors. These individuals reflect a variety of lived experiences with disability across the lifespan, as well as Ohio's cultural and geographic diversity. The ambassadors trained this spring will be required to participate in a Community of Practice during the 2023-2024 school year. Moving forward in the 2023-2024 school year we would like to train an additional 32 ambassadors to follow the same process and commit to the community of practice for the following school year.
