        Project Description:
        The primary purpose of this project is to support the administrative and programmatic infrastructure of the UCEDD at the Waisman Center, which in turn enables the UCEDD to perform its core functions of training, technical assistance, direct service, research and evaluation, and information development and dissemination. Specific objectives of the project are to: 1) provide preservice interdisciplinary and disciplinary training to 150 intermediate and long term trainees, 2) provide clinical services to 2000 individuals in Waisman Center based clinics, 3) provide community based early intervention and community support services to 600 individuals and families, 4) provide over 2000 hours of agency centered or person centered technical assistance and consultation, 5) provide a minimum of 50 community training programs, that are attended by a minimum of 2500 individuals, 6) develop a variety of education and information products and materials that are related to developmental disabilities, 7)secure additional funding to support mission related projects and programs within the Waisman Center UCEDD.  The overall goal and expected benefit of these activities is to support the purpose of the Developmental Disabilities Act which is to to "assure that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families participate in the design of, and have access to needed community services, individualized supports, and other forms of assistance that promote self-determination, independence, productivity, and integration and inclusion in all facets of community life."
