Project Description:
The Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities supports the North Carolina Postsecondary Education Alliance (NCPSEA) as one of its ongoing initiatives. Due to recent legislation on the state level, North Carolina is in a position to expand postsecondary education (PSE) options for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This project intends to host a capacity building summit to bring together leaders and stakeholders in PSE from universities, colleges and community colleges to receive technical assistance from national leaders in the field. The goal is to expand PSE opportunities in NC, and develop a strategic plan for the NCPSEA and other stakeholders to support and sustain the expansion.
