ECE - Developing a Tool to Monitor and Track Adverse Events in Psychosocial Autism Interventions
Project Description:
The purpose of this study is to better understand potential problems or negative impacts of autism psychosocial interventions and create a tool to help track and monitor such adverse events for existing or newly developed autism interventions. This tool can be used by clinicians and researchers to systematically collect information about side effects of psychosocial interventions, which can in turn be used to improve acceptability of therapies targeted towards autistic individuals. Through the use of focus groups with autistic adults, caregivers of autistic children, and intervention service providers, we will have developed a taxonomy of plausible harms that can inform a protocol for monitoring side effects.
