SOCIAL - Friendship Connection

Project Description:

Friendship Connection (FC) is a community-based social/recreational program for adults with IDD. FC staff distribute a quarterly calendar of events and social opportunities for 150+ participants. On average, there is one event per week, including such things as attending sporting events, "Pop Culture Parties", going to local festivals/farmers markets, group dinners, swim parties, and holiday celebrations. In 2018, FC staff piloted an improvisation workshop with 6 Friendship Connection members and 6 community members without DD. This activity was a great success, and has recently received a grant to fund two additional workshops.
