WIND Research: Emergent Gaze Perception in Autism Spectrum Disorder

        Project Description:
This project is designed to explore the occurrence of emergent eye gaze in children with autism and assess the use of robots to impact this phenomenon. Emergent eye gaze is a visual illusion that is thought to relate to how our brains process social information related to eyes. This project will reveal if this brain process is deficient in those with autism, and whether robots are a useful clinical tool to improve the processing of social information in those with autism.
