Project Description:
Since 1978 the Vermont I-Team has provided statewide interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary services, training, technical assistance and dissemination to IEP teams of school-age students (birth through age 21) with multiple disabilities (including students with deafblindness and autism spectrum disorders), their families and their service providers. The I-Team, funded by the State Department of Education, has five offices serving five regions statewide coordinated by the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion/UCEDD. Each regional program employs an educational consultant and a family resources consultant. The regional programs are supported by a core group of Center/UCEDD interdisciplinary faculty including the I-Team director, coordinator, occupational therapist, physical therapist, augmentative communication specialist, deaf-blind specialist, Cortical Visual Impairment specialist, and others.
