Last updated by ZD per BH edits 9/11/17 - The universal goal of project ENRICH (Educate, Nurture, Role Identity, Competent, Humane) is family preservation through educational and intensive in-home training programs designed to teach appropriate parenting techniques to the following target groups: parents with cognitive limitations, parents of children with developmental disabilities, and teen parents. The parenting skills training curriculum for teens encompasses the following topics: the importance of peer relationships, rules and discipline, domestic violence, an overview of normal development vs. behavior which is problematic and life skill awareness. The basic curricula for parents with cognitive limitations in both Fayette and Shelby include: How Children Grow and Learn; Taking Care Of Money, Consequences; Time Out; Development of a Confident Child.
