Project Description:
The Center on Disability and Community Inclusion, in collaboration with the Student ACCESS Center at the University of Vermont, is host to the Chittenden County Assistive Technology Tryout Center. This joint venture will provide an enhanced opportunity for students, families and professionals to access a wide array of Assistive Technology (AT) devices, training and services. The Chittenden County AT Tryout Center is positioned to provide AT consultations, device demonstrations, loans and reuse, as well as targeted training and technical assistance. Students, families, and professionals will have access to onsite consultation and services along with web-based consultation, online referral, demonstration and professional development. This hybrid approach to training and technical assistance will increase access and opportunities to AT resources and intentionally attempts to mitigate the "one size fits all" static method of service delivery.
