NHL/NHLPA Concussion Evaluation and Management Program

Project Description:
Dr. Duquette provides independent consultation with HH as part of the National Hockey League (NHL) Neuropsychological Testing Program. Duties will involve evaluating players referred to the Dr. Duquette by HH pursuant to the NHL/NHLPA Concussion Evaluation and Management Program requirements. Services will include neuropsychological testing to review symptoms and evaluate cognitive functioning following suspected concussion to help ascertain when the player has returned to his baseline level of functioning. Dr. Duquette will provide feedback to the player upon request. Dr. Duquette will also communicate with team medical staff both verbally and in writing to assist with their own determination of when a player is ready to return to hockey-related activities. Other related services include testing visiting team players when their club is playing HH, with consultation to the corresponding neuropsychologist for that particular club. All services will be provided without any influence from the HH.
