Project Description:
The Child Development Center is an inclusive childcare and development program that provides early developmental services to 30 infants and toddlers of typical development and with developmental disabilities. The Center has been funded by the Puerto Rico Child Care and Development Program by means of Child Block Grant Funds.This year budged is pending due to cuts being considered at this moment. The Center, better known as CEDI, has been very successful in establishing the first inclusive childcare and development center in Puerto Rico and had supported the development of many other Inclusive Child Care Facilities. CEDI objectives include; demonstration of best practices in inclusive childcare and development and providing training and technical assistance to other child care providers in Puerto Rico. CEDI is also a setting for the Interdisciplinary Training of pre service professionals in the disciplines that work in the field of Developmental Disabilities. The child development Center has published a number of resources to aid the practice of inclusive childcare and development and the provision of Early Intervention Services in Natural Environments.
