Project Description:
The Family Directed Clinic provides families with an interdisciplinary evaluation of their child?s developmental strengths, skills and needs including a medical diagnosis and complete developmental profile of the child. Parents are able to discuss their child with a team of professionals including: a developmental behavioral pediatrician, speech language therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, audiologist, clinic coordinator, family advocate, and medical dietician who also evaluate the child?s developmental and behavioral abilities. The Nisonger Dual Neurdevelopmental Psychiatric Study Program provides outpatient psychiatric services to children and adults with IDD and mental health needs with support from the Franklin County Board of DD and the Franklin County ADAMH board. The clinic provides diagnostic consultation services to community physicians and ongoing psychiatric services and medication management. Referrals come to the clinic through IDD service coordinators, Netcare and Franklin County mental health centers. The Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Clinic provides families with initial autism evaluations, as well as re-evaluations and behavioral consults. The evaluation assesses the child or adolescent?s developmental strengths, skills and needs. Parents are able to discuss their child with a psychologist who also evaluates the child?s developmental and behavioral abilities. Depending on the referral question, parents/guardians are given a complete developmental and behavioral profile of the child, psychological recommendations, and/or relevant diagnoses. We also have a William syndrome clinic that provides comprehensive interdisciplinary evaluations across the age span.
