Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Project

Project Description:
In collaboration with our colleagues, we provide professional development and resources for the Vermont community including women, families, educators, healthcare providers, and other professionals in an effort to provide awareness of FASD. Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders are 100% preventable. Yet, the latest figures from the Center on Disease Control reveal 0.2 to 1.5 cases of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) occur for every 1,000 live births in certain areas of the United States and specialists believe that there are at least three times as many cases of FASDs as FAS.1 We believe that children, youth, and adults with FASD and their families deserve and benefit from early identification, wraparound support services, as well as educational, community and family supports.
