Agency will provide leadership and coordination to 1) Governor?s Council Early Childhood Advisory Council?s Early Childhood Professional Development Initiative (PDI) and 2) Southern Region Early Community Development Collaboration Coaches Initiative (EC Coach).1.The purpose of the Professional Development Initiative is to support the goal of the Wisconsin Early Childhood Advisory Council (ECAC) to ensure access for early childhood providers to cross-sector, culturally and linguistically appropriate professional development opportunities. This will be accomplished by providing leadership, coordination and productivity in the development and strengthening of structures and/or strategies for implementing cross-sector training, communities of practices, coaching and mentoring, module development and periodic contact presentation to the field; provide advice in the redesign of the state teacher licensing and approval process and articulation with the early childhood education associate degree programs in the technical college system; and provide advice in the development of credit-based, credential, and/or alternative career pathways besides teaching licensing. 2.The purpose of the Wisconsin Early Childhood Collaborating Partners (WECCP) Southern Region Community Development and Collaboration Coach is to support regional planning and implementation of an early childhood comprehensive system by networking, sharing information, coordinating regional planning, and promoting collaboration within the state and regional early childhood infrastructure. The coach will facilitate collaboration with those who provide 4 year old kindergarten; services to children with disabilities and special education; professional development; family support and education; issues of homelessness and poverty, and issues of health creating better outcomes for children birth to eight.
