Fiscal Year:
2012
Contact Information:
Project Description:
The Wisconsin Birth to 3 Personnel Development Project (WPDP), housed at the Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been funded by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) since 1989 to address the need for well qualified early intervention professionals in the state. WPDP offers a wide range of professional development opportunities for parents, service providers from all disciplines, and program managers/administrators, through a multifaceted program. Activities include statewide and regional workshops, Parents as Leaders (PALs), technical assistance, the Wisconsin Birth to 3 Program Training and Technical Assistance website, and materials development and dissemination. The ARRA enhancement funds will provide opportunities to implement a number of new initiatives which have been prioritized and under development for the past several years, but for which resources for implementation have not been available. These funds will expand the depth of professional development and leave a legacy for ongoing professional development aimed at the implementation of ?Relationship-Based Early Intervention in Natural Environments Using Evidence-Based Practices?. These activities are consistent with the priorities of the WI DHS ACCOUNTABILITY PLAN for ARRA BIRTH TO 3 (PART C) PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND GOALS. The plan is that WPDP will be able to sustain the ARRA activities when ARRA funds are no longer available.
