Power 2 Serve-National Service Inclusion Project

Few individuals with developmental disabilities serve as AmeriCorps members, though this opportunity increases job skills and allows members to give back to the community. Power to Serve NC (P2S) efforts will address strategies to reach both potential members and volunteers with disabilities and current program directors. P2S activities will offer hands-on activities to explore benefits, address barriers, and provide information with the goal of increasing the number of members who have a disability. A team of four experienced Project STIR (Steps Toward Independence and Responsibility) trainers with and without a disability will be involved.
